These things aren't supposed to past eight or nine pages, right? The old thread was getting dangerously long, anyway, so here's a fresh one.

Who's up?

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

Me... I'm at work again. But happy that Finland won the Eurovision Song Contest.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
23:56 / 20.05.06
What's a Eurovision song contest?

That Barbesuicide thread irritates the shit out of me just by it's presence. I feel like it should be locked so it can fall, and not inspire any other fool.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
23:57 / 20.05.06
Yeah, it's definitely one of the stupider things I've seen recently.

Hey Statie, Jake. Im here. I just finished watching Aeon Flux (the movie) Smidgeons of good ideas pasted amongst the bland and pathetic. All attempts at recreating the atmosphere of the cartoon..lost.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
00:02 / 21.05.06
Dude, I just googled the Eurovision thing, and that Finnish band has super-badass makeup and costumes. Totally sweet.

Jake, Colossus of Clout

Howdy, Keggers! I should be writing a cover letter for a job application, but I'm a noted procrastinator.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK

One day my powers of procrastination will beat yours.

One day... but not today. I can't be arsed.

Saint Keggers
00:13 / 21.05.06
I would too be a noted procrastinator but I never got around to it. What's the job, Jake?

Hey Stoatie, is there a reason behind the purple attire?

Jake, Colossus of Clout
00:17 / 21.05.06
Bartending, my usual gig. I just moved to one of the biggest summer tourist spots on the east coast, so I stand to be able to buy that flatscreen TV I see in my dreams. If I would just write the fucking thing.

'Tis a Gogol Bordello song-

"Start wearing purple, wearing purple
Start wearing purple for me now
All your sanity and wits they will all vanish, I promise
It's just a matter of time".

Download it if you can- it's ace.

I'm up, shortly going to bed. Damn 'ghost tonsils' keeping me awake with their lancing pain.

That and I've been playing EVE Online for the last six hours...

I just heard Gogol Bordello for the first time a few days ago, great music.

Oh, and hullo everybody!

I've been wasting my life with Anarchy Online lately, but iconoplast is sending me a copy of WoW, so I may never be seen again.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
00:31 / 21.05.06
Hey, Charrellz!

Stoatie, I'm listening to Start Wearing Purple right now- it's on their myspace page.

It is, indeed, fucking ace.

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:32 / 21.05.06
They're the best band in the world ever. At the moment.

Ahh, make sure you say your goodbyes to your loved ones before you join WoW, is all I can say...

Saint Keggers
00:33 / 21.05.06
Hi Dave, sorry to hear about the tonsils. At least when the crop circle aliens come for their millenial tonsil harvest you wont be hassled.

I've been playing Guild Wars, when I get the chance.
Mainly I've just been working the comics, the cover illustration for the mag that features my comics, working on the Mages book, website and to lesser degrees working on the tarot deck and Alice project.

I've heard that about WoW, been reading Tom and Joi Ito's posts about it for a while. I guess I'm just not that into the fantasy backdrop, but I'm beginning to appreciate how the teamwork thing can be addictive. Me and six others from all over the world just did a mad, asteroid-belt skipping death run, firing missiles at pirates and shit. It was teh awesome. Substitute spells and swords, and I guess it could be pretty amazing too.

I just had a brilliant idea! Someone needs to take all of the Late Shift threads (evar) and compile them, then publish that compilation in handy paperback format. I'd buy it.

On second thought, that is a terrible idea...after all, what would it be called? "Barbelith: The Late Shift Era"? "Late Shift and Other Assorted Rambling Crap That No One Really Cares About"? I think I'll stop while I'm behind.

Lateshift: Read what people are doing while you have a life!

Jake, Colossus of Clout
00:41 / 21.05.06
I'd buy the Late Shift book.

I was really digging Anarchy Online for a while, it has a really cool sci-fi, cyberpunk, political conflict backdrop, but there just isn't enough to do, besides kill the same enemies over and over again. I find myself doing the same dungeon repeatedly, and then buying new guns and armor. Wash, rinse, repeat. I've heard that WoW has much more depth. AO, is, however free to download and play.

Out of interest, did you all know that Eurovision attracts an audience of 400 million?

'Kin 'ell, as they say.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
00:44 / 21.05.06
Crikey! That makes American Idol's 30 million look downright paltry. American Idol is a blight on the cultural landscape of the US.

Saint Keggers
00:46 / 21.05.06
I tend to stay away from anything with Idol in the title. Unless its proceeded by Billy.

Right, bed for me. Night all!

Come sweet ibuprofen, and draw a veil over my tonsular pain...

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
00:49 / 21.05.06
Night, Happy Dave. Hope the phantom tonsils clear up soon.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
00:50 / 21.05.06
I've never actually seen it, but I've heard some of the songs by the winners. And Kelly fucking Clarkson won a grammy, which makes the grammys even more laughable than they already were.

If that's possible.

Spaniel
00:50 / 21.05.06
For something most Brits think of (these days) as a silly yet diverting irrelevance, that's one popular contest.

Mourne Kransky
00:51 / 21.05.06
Just in and having diffuclty with the Engluish language (although my Finnish is probbably 100%) but HOW IMPRESSED AM, I? It was a crap tune but less crap than the others. I voted for Greece though (because I could imagine Cher singing it) before I went out.

Yay!

Spaniel
00:51 / 21.05.06
Eurovision, I mean.

Night Dave

Saint Keggers
00:53 / 21.05.06
G'night Dave.

So, I just spent over 12 hours, today, working on an illustration... and it looks exactly like it did this morning. Somedays... arrrrgh!.

Jake, Colossus of Clout
00:54 / 21.05.06
G'night, Dave. H'lo, Xoc. How's things?

I think I am expeeriencing what's known as La Vie En Rose. Everything is just fabulouos. As long as I don't move about tooo much. Which is strange cos II was dancing enthisiastically on the stage in a clubjust a half an hour ago......

STOATIE LIEKS CHOCOLATE MILK
01:05 / 21.05.06
I think you're experiencing what's known as "being off your face and just back from dancing". Pretty similar, though.
